Miag-ao Church or the St. Thomas Villanueva Church, Iloilo

Travelling to Iloilo City is like hitting two birds with one stone, in fact several birds in one stone. There are many places to visit and the island province of Guimaras should never be missed. I personally created this itinerary for my colleagues who have never set foot on The City of Love.

Day 1

05:25AM ETA, Iloilo Int’l Airport
06:30AM ETA Iloilo City,Breakfast at Decos Orig Lapaz Bachoy. Madge Cafe is optional.
07:30AM ETD To Molo District, Visit St. Anne Church, the Philippine Feminist Church.
08:00AM To Miag-ao, visit UNESCO World Heritage Site Church
09:00AM ETA Miag-ao
10:00AM ETD back to Iloilo City
11:00AM ETA Iloilo City, Lunch JD Backshop, fronting University of San Agustin (my alma mater=)
12:30PM ETD Iloilo City to Jordan, Guimaras
01:30PM ETA, Raymen Beach Resort
02:00PM Free time, socials, swimming etc.

10:00AM Back to Resort, freshen up, lunch

02:30PM ETA Iloilo City
03:00PM Check-in/rest
04:00PM To Jaro Cathedral + Biscocho House

Tips:

  1. Book your airline ticket earlier. If you can’t afford to buy round trip ticket yet, buy one way on one salary day, the other one would be the next payday.
  2. Don’t forget to say “salamat gid” to express gratitude.
  3. “Wala na gid ayo ni?” is how to say when you want to haggle.
  4. Say “sa lugar lang” if you want the jeepney to pullover.
  5. Jordan is pronounced as hor-dan.
