Till the industrial revolution took place, only the rich could afford to buy curtains. These curtains were usually plain and coloured, and were made from silk or linen. In some homes, winter curtains were made from wool. The purpose of curtains has not changed over the ages; curtains are placed inside over windows to keep prying eyes from looking in to a home and to keep the interior of the house warm in winters. Curtains also blocked out exterior light.
The curtain fabrics are supplied by nearly all the manufacturers in different colors and patterns so that they match the interior of the rooms where the cubicle curtains are used. The specifications of the fabrics and their compliance to fire retardant standards of the state government should be studied and confirmed before placing orders for cubicle curtains.
Curtains enjoy a place of honor whether it is a beautiful house, elegant mansion, ritzy restaurant or opulent hotel or a shop/beauty parlor. You name it and they are there. You will find use of curtains right from the olden times. Whether they are there can be due to different reasons. It can either be for functional purposes such as to afford protection from elements such as wind, red – hot sun or winter snows or purely as an outlet for man’s creative spirits and décor. Whatever may be the reason curtains and their rods have been a part of human existence and will continue to be there for ages to come.
